Where Art Meets History

Housed in a majestic Baroque palace once owned by the noble Califfi family, the Rovinj Heritage Museum is a treasure trove of local culture.

Founded in 1954, the museum features four floors of exhibitions, ranging from fine art and sculpture to maritime artifacts and ethnographic collections. The permanent exhibits cover Rovinj’s Roman roots, its Venetian era, and the everyday life of its citizens through the ages.

Art lovers will enjoy the collection of 19th and 20th-century Croatian painters, while history buffs can explore documents and objects that tell the story of Rovinj’s transformation from fishing village to cultural gem.
